What makes an individual powerful?
An individual becomes powerful by getting themselves to that point. Look at me for example, how I can easily manipulate people to do what I want, I've given myself power. I can agree that some are born into leadership roles, like being king. But me? I get what I want for myself. To be powerful you have to work for it. You got to take what you want the moment you see it. I work for my power, even if I get people to do stuff for me, it's still alot of work! Do you realize how much I have to nag sometimes to get what I want? I'd consider myself a pretty powerful person. All in all, people get powerful by working for it. If you don't work to get to your high position then why should people listen to you?

Dear Lady Macbeth,
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone would deny that you have a solid work ethic. It was clear that you spent time working out the plans to make Macbeth and therefore yourself, successful! Having that vision was inspiring at first and if I considered myself to be evil, I might even be jealous of your ambition. The problem, however, is that you didn't really succeed did you? Where did things go wrong? Maybe you stepped back too soon? Macbeth needed you to be stronger than him and you just didn't do it. What was Shakespeare trying to do? Maybe he was afraid of having such a powerful woman?
Lady Macbeth,
ReplyDeleteEven though you didn't succeed at becoming queen for a long time, or a popular one at that, I do think you had enough ambition and self pride. I also thought it was at least nice of you to feel remorse for my death and for my children's. And to the previous comment: Shakespeare was definitely afraid of powerful women. We'd over throw the opposite sex. Lady Macbeth had her husband wrapped around her finger. Imagine if she had more power.
